Integrate your 30boxes account with Openomy

I'm a big 30boxes fan. My calendaring needs aren't so outrageous that I need every feature available. I enjoy having the AJAX interface and the basics available to me quickly and efficiently -- anywhere I go.

I use too many computers to make using iCal or Outlook a feasible alternative. I need something web based. 30boxes fits the bill well.

However, one problem I've always had with calendaring apps is the lack of integration with my files. Whenever I'm running to a meeting, I'd like to have the presentation handy, or the agenda quickly available to skim as I'm leaving.

So, how to deal with this?

Well, I thought it'd be a good time to learn some more JavaScript and figure out how to use GreaseMonkey.

This is all still very much a test, but I'm happy to announce the beginning of Openomy Greasemonkey scripts. We're starting with 30 boxes integration.

Although it doesn't work perfectly yet (you'll notice some lag when trying to actually add or remove attached files), it does work and it's really nice and simple.

After installation, you'll notice in the Edit Event window a couple new fields: "Already Attached" and "Your Openomy Tags/Files." You'll be able to navigate through your tags and files and attach/detach files to the event from there. Then, when you're on your way out the door, just open the event up and check out the files you need directly from Openomy.

I've personally been using it a bunch for the last week or two and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have been. Email me directly if you find any bugs flying around.
